  Behavior and Learning:

What Teachers, Parents and Mental Health Professionals Need to Know to Help Struggling Students

This class was first taught last fall.  Twenty-two parents and teachers attended. Ratings for all aspects of the class were above 9.5 on a 10 point scale and comment about those interested in taking the class in the future included:

This class concerns issues that impact the behavior and learning of children and adolescents.  Information from current research on each topic will be presented and methods of intervention to help the child and family will be discussed.  For behavioral issues, proven medication and non-medication approaches will be clarified.  Learning problems will be explained and specific intervention strategies reviewed and discussed.  The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, February28th, 8AM-5PM
Saturday, March 7th, 8AM-5PM

Saturday March 28th, 8AM-5PM
Saturday, April 4th, 8AM-5PM

Saturday April 25th, 8AM-5PM
Saturday May 2nd, 8AM-5PM

 This time the class will be held on two Saturdays according to the schedule above at the Learning Solutions building (see map below).  Class size will be limited to 22.  The University of Sioux Falls will offer 1 hour graduate credit for $40.  Cost for the class will be an additional $70 and each fee must be paid separately.  School vouchers and credit card payment are accepted.  Class materials will be emailed to the participants before each class so you must have an email address to be enrolled.
